I need to have my thumbs examined.
I swear I permanently whittled them as a child, back when I spent long, asthmatic afternoons tap-tap-tapping away on Nintendo’s video game controllers.
I mashed those buttons so hard, my thumbs turned fire-engine-red by the end of the weekend. This was partly out of necessity, because the controllers were less responsive then, and this was partly due to anger, because those early platform games were just so difficult.

Behold titanic LEGO Crawler Town!
Listen to the clicking agony of its thighs!
Mighty, too, are the plastic townsfolk who march in lockstep to the thrum-thrum-thrum. The very ground shifts forever beneath their five-millimeter feet. . . .
“GET OFF MY BACK!” bewails the hardworking LEGO titan unto the world, like the globe-toting Atlas of ancient lore.
The world doth not listen. For the bustling microcosm responds not like people, but like a ton of bricks. Fake plastic blockheads all, and no nobler for it.
Only from beneath can the truth appear clear. Purity lies below.
